He combines many years of experience in the cruise and hospitality industries with his love of travel, food and wine to operate Martindale Travel & Tours and Pink Umbrella Travel, a Cruise Planners Franchise affiliated with American Express.
Adam shares, “My clients say that I’m detail oriented, responsive, and that I follow up extremely well. Making sure I look out for my clients, I constantly analyze and filter a huge amount of new information and itineraries, which I share with my clients to fit their needs.”
Originally from England, Adam has worked as Food and Beverage Director at San Diego’s “Coronado Bay Resort” and “Bacara Resort” in Santa Barbara, among others in Washington State and Florida.
Adam went to sea with Carnival Cruise Lines in 1985, when the line had only 3 ships in their fleet! As F & B Director he brought out two new ships, even living in Finland and Sweden while two of their ships were being built.
He performed the same role in Germany for Norwegian Cruise Line with “Pride Of America.” and “Pride of Hawaii.”
Experience on smaller luxury ships was earned while Food and Beverage Director position at Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Adam looks forward to helping MeetMeOnBoard members and friends plan their cruises and other travel. He offers a wealth of experience to personalize the onboard experience and knows most ports of call through the world! When he travels, he is always available by e-mail and his associate (and ex-wife!) Juanita, assists with the business. Juanita also worked on board cruise ships for 8 years and has escorted many groups.

With over 30 years in the industry as a Travel Agent, Cruise Director and Flight Attendant, John Layton knows travel. With over 70 countries around the world visited, exploration and the discovery of new places still excite him.
“When I’m not traveling, I’m either planning my next trip or helping someone plan theirs” says John. “I’m fortunate that my curiosity level and my sense of adventure has never diminished”.
John has never worked outside of the travel industry. “As a career, travel is all I know and I’ve been lucky that I have never had a job I didn’t love”. After many years sailing the seas as a Cruise Director John began his Cruise Planners franchise in 2013 and has been arranging dream vacations ever since. “I work hard to provide great service to every customer I connect with.” he says
John’s clients appreciate his experience, value his input and his recommendations. “I never try to sell a client anything just because I enjoyed it. I get to know their likes and dislikes; discover what is truly important to them, and then match them up with the product that best fits their wish list and budget. I pride myself in assisting clients with planning a vacation that is best for them.”
John’s travel agency is not a one-man show. His business partner Joyce (they are known as Team JoJo) is the yin to his yang. If something ever comes up that John isn’t familiar with, you can bet Joyce will be. Between the two of them Team JoJo will work with you to provide incredible travel experiences. He and Joyce are delighted to have a large LGBTQ client base and Meet Me On Board members are especially welcome.
