same-sex weddings at sea Cunard will become one of the first British cruise lines to conduct same-sex wedding ceremonies at sea. The cruise line has offered weddings on its ships for the past five years, with over 250 couples tying the knot aboard one of the line’s ships.

Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America, stated, “Cunard has brought people together through travel for over 175 years, and we’re proud to mark another milestone in our company’s history as we welcome our first gay marriage booking and many other marriages to come.”

Ceremonies will be performed by the ship’s Captain, with the marriage license issued by Bermuda. (In instances when the Captain is unavailable, the Deputy Captain will fill in.)
