Azamara Club Cruises will partner with the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express to launch a new land and sea travel program in 2018. Azamara guests can choose from three new itineraries combining an Azamara voyage with an iconic rail ride, including 1920s vintage carriages, gourmet cuisine and spectacular scenery.
Guests can choose to include the rail journey either London to Venice pre-voyage or Venice to London post-voyage. Azamara is offering three itineraries incorporating this stellar travel experience:
–4-night land package departing July 12 from London, followed by 10-night Mediterranean voyage leaving from Venice and concluding in Monte Carlo
–3-night land package departing August 16 from London, followed by 7-night Mediterranean voyage, beginning and ending in Venice
–8-night Mediterranean voyage departing September 13 from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Venice, followed by 3-night land package. Journey ends in London
The Venice-Simplon Orient-Express portion of the journey includes gourmet meals as well as the stunning scenery including lakes, mountain views, charming towns and vineyards. Passengers will cross the Channel in style on the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express’ sister train, the Belmond British Pullman. While staying in Venice, guests will enjoy luxury accommodations at the Hotel Monaco, with the option either to join guided tours of the city or explore on their own. All three travel packages include sailing aboard Azamara Quest with calls at a wide range of Mediterranean ports. The journey is a full turnkey experience, with all transfers included.
Azamara will expand their new rail and sea travel program to North America in 2019. Guests will have the option to combine an Azamara Alaska cruise with rail journey on the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer.
Our Take: These new land and sea packages sound enticing. Our experiences with Azamara have convinced us that whatever they do, they take the time to do right, with style, flair and attention to detail.
