Thankfully, changes in the US government’s policy toward Cuba are apparently not as draconian as we feared. It does appear that a stricter enforcement of the travel ban may be coming, and that is certainly a concern, depending on what that really means. US cruise lines and airlines are apparently unaffected, at least directly.
We feel that contact between Americans and other tourists with Cubans in Cuba is a positive thing. Building bridges is in most cases more constructive than blowing them up. We hope that US cruise lines and airlines and their passengers can continue visiting Cuba with as few restrictions as possible.
Yes, we’re concerned about human rights in Cuba. We also believe that individual Americans should have a right to visit Cuba and to build bridges of understanding.
