About Randall Shirley, Editor

Award-winning writer Randall Shirley is one of North America’s most-experienced gay travel journalists. His work has appeared in publications such as Travel+Leisure, The Boston Globe, The Dallas Morning News, and Canada’s Calgary Herald and Up! inflight magazine. For several years, he was Travel Editor of Canada’s major gay magazine, Outlooks.

Randall grew up near Salt Lake City, Utah (the answer is “yes” to all the Mormon questions), and now lives in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. He and his husband Denni are managed by two cats, Franco & Ella.

His best vacations have been on cruises; favorites include a 14-night Panama Canal cruise, and his honeymoon Alaska cruise.

He’s visited 841 cities (and counting), 45 U.S. states, all Canadian provinces and territories (including remote Nunavut … on a cruise ship!), and 36 different countries. Travels have taken him to many great cruise ports like Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; New York City, and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Learn more at www.RandallShirley.com.
