All gay cruises in Europe: Atlantis & RSVP get some competition!
May 6 NEWS! You can find these cruises and more on the Gay Cruise Calendar!
Friends and I used to play a silly game when we saw a hot, metrosexual guy: “is he gay or just European?” After all, many straight European have such style! And then bring on the gay Europeans and it’s can be a veritable feast of fabulousness.
Now that all-gay cruises have been hauling tons of North American gays into European waters for several years (along with many Euorpean travelers), it was only a matter of time until some smart Europeans said, “gee, why do we need Americans planning cruises in our waters?” Bring on two new entrants to the gay cruise market:
- The first will set sail in July, orgnized by a European gay party planning company called “La Demence.” They’ve chartered a new-to-me ship, called the Pullmantour Cruises Horizon. Pullmantour is a Spanish company. It’s being marketed as a gay men’s cruise, and will sail from Malaga, Spain (July 1, 2011), to Athens, Greece (July 8, 2011). The cruise is being sold, however, by HolidayPride, a Belgian travel agency. More information on the La Demence website.
- Have you been to a La Demence party? Tell us about it by commenting.
- Have you been on a Pullmantour cruise? Share your thoughts!
- The second will set sail September 3-10, literally…it’s a sailing ship! Chartered by American gay tour company Source Events, the MSY Wind Surf will sail from Rome to Venice, with stops in other Italian ports as well as Montenegro and Croatia. It looks like a blast. More info on the Source Events site.

The French company www:attitude-travels.com has been running all-gay cruises in the Med for three years: the first two were on the 36 000 tonne “Bleu de France” owned by RCCL, while this year’s, 31st August to 10th September, will be on the “Orient Queen” of Louis Cruises. Along with five other Australians I have booked on it and look forward to a fab all-French time.

We’re also joining the all gay cruise market, with a 9 night cruise/tour from Paris to Nuremberg (2 nights Paris, 7 night cruise). I’m very excited as we offer the gay world more variety. Check out the details here http://cruisingwithpride.com/rivercruise.html
